Collaborate with R. Kelly on Jamglue!

R. Kelly Double UP

Ever wanted to collaborate with the King of R&B? Now’s your chance!!! To commemorate the release of R. Kelly’s new album “DOUBLE UP”, we have partnered with Jive Records to bring you this super cool contest. All you need is a microphone to sing a duet with R. KELLY on his hit single “I’m a Flirt.” Prizes include signed copies of his new album, and having your collaboration featured on R. Kelly’s MySpace! Check out the contest page for more details.

We’re looking forward to all our talented Jamglue singers and budding MC’s showing off and getting some exposure!

Here’s a sample of the backing track that the duet will be recorded over (Kells sings the chorus for the first 30 seconds, the rest is up to you!):

Screencast Tutorial

One of our new users today, molly, was awesome enough to add a screencast of Jamglue to her growing list of tutorial screencasts on screeniac. It walks a new user through the process of signing up for Jamglue, creating a new mix, and using the main features of the social network. The tutorial for the remixer is particularly great for someone new to mixing. Be sure to check it out. Thanks Molly!

Crunched and Mashed

We at Jamglue would like to give a warm welcome to all of our new users who read about us on TechCrunch (Who Are the Y Combinator Companies?) and Mashable (Jamglue To Launch Awesome Remixing Community) today!

The TechCrunch article gave a great overview of us and our fellow YCombinator-funded companies. It was exciting to see Jamglue get a bit of discussion in the comments, though we’re hoping that Aaron is better at predicting the future than lemon o brien.

We’re also very excited about our full-length mention on Mashable, and we’re very flattered by some of Pete’s comments on the site. For example:

In short, it’s just incredibly easy for talentless people like me to create a mix that actually sounds pretty good.

And, we even got mentioned by a Slovakian website called Web2 zápisník (Jamglue.com - remixujte hudbu). I have no idea what it says, but it does have a smiley at the end!

But, best of all are the new users that we’ve gained from this publicity. It’s really exciting to see new people on the site and listen to their music. For example, I really like First by 681-tiny molly — the use of 693-tiny Scream (female) uploaded by 293-tiny gautam is genius. I can’t wait for Second and Third!

Update: I know this post is getting long, but I couldn’t sleep at night if I didn’t share this with our loyal readers: Milkshake uploaded by pudjam666 . Who’s going to be the first to remix it?
