Crunched and Mashed

November 10th, 2006 Matt Rubens

We at Jamglue would like to give a warm welcome to all of our new users who read about us on TechCrunch (Who Are the Y Combinator Companies?) and Mashable (Jamglue To Launch Awesome Remixing Community) today!

The TechCrunch article gave a great overview of us and our fellow YCombinator-funded companies. It was exciting to see Jamglue get a bit of discussion in the comments, though we’re hoping that Aaron is better at predicting the future than lemon o brien.

We’re also very excited about our full-length mention on Mashable, and we’re very flattered by some of Pete’s comments on the site. For example:

In short, it’s just incredibly easy for talentless people like me to create a mix that actually sounds pretty good.

And, we even got mentioned by a Slovakian website called Web2 zápisník (Jamglue.com - remixujte hudbu). I have no idea what it says, but it does have a smiley at the end!

But, best of all are the new users that we’ve gained from this publicity. It’s really exciting to see new people on the site and listen to their music. For example, I really like First by 681-tiny molly — the use of 693-tiny Scream (female) uploaded by 293-tiny gautam is genius. I can’t wait for Second and Third!

Update: I know this post is getting long, but I couldn’t sleep at night if I didn’t share this with our loyal readers: Milkshake uploaded by pudjam666 . Who’s going to be the first to remix it?

Everyone is figuring out that Y Combinator has it figured out…

We wrote about our admiration for Y Combinator last week, and discussions on their incubation / seed / micro-vc / business model have been continuing inside our office and out. The New York Times is taking notice too.
Y Combinator is aiming at even s…
