Jamglue has been buzzing with remixing activity. The community just blasted through another milestone– a few weeks ago we passed two million registered users!
Thanks to all our members for helping make this happen. You all have assembled an enormous remixing lab that’s cranking out hot music every day!
Right about now, faithful readers of the Jamglue blog might be asking: where you all been at? Its been almost a year and no news - are the founders asleep at the wheel?
Quite the opposite actually - for Jamglue, the silence has been golden. The year 2009 has given us a warm welcome by delivering some of our proudest milestones to date:
Last week, we surpassed 1,000,000 registered users! Our community is thriving and growing with strength and energy. Jamglue’s rappers, producers and mashup artists are making waves not only on Jamglue, but have been signed to record labels, performed on national tours, and have made hit radio singles in cities around the world.
Also not long ago, we celebrated our 2,000,000th mix created on Jamglue! The creativity is astounding, and many of these mixes have been remixed within the community hundreds or thousands of times, setting a new standard for fan interaction and engagement.
And not to leave out all the great Jamglue users who may not be just mixing, but are there checking out the hottest mixes and tracks on Jamglue - in the past month, over 980,000 people have visited Jamglue, and spent an average of 13 minutes on the site. That’s the equivalent of over 212,000 hours, or 8,800 days spent on Jamglue in the past 30 days. Now that’s a lot of love right there!
And now, to take a break from patting ourselves on the back, I’d like to provide an update to the ongoing question: “who you reppin’?”
Top 10 Cities represented on Jamglue this month:
1) New York City (Brooklyn + Manhattan + Bronx)

This post has been a long time coming - this past fall, we sponsored not one, but six amazing contests here on Jamglue! Here are some of the contest winners below - props to all the great MC’s, DJ’s and fans who entered and voted in these contests. Be sure to check them out below, and hit them up on Jamglue with your suggestions and praise.
Grand Prize winners were chosen by the artists themselves - thanks to Chuck D, Gary G-Wiz, JR WRiter, Tigarah, and Hi-Tek for participating in this pioneering creative dialogue with their fans!
Public Enemy “Amerikan Gangster” Grand Prize Winner
Apologies to all the faithful readers of the Jamglue Blog - but no news has been great news! We’ve been really busy building Jamglue into a huge success, and keeping up with some really exciting growth and developments.
Since our last post back in November, the Jamglue community has almost quadrupled! We now have over 330,000 registered members (and growing by thousands per day!), and have over 650,000 people coming through each month.
On the creative side, we’ve had a bunch of wildly successful contests (winners to be announced in the next post), and have several more coming up this spring. Our dedicated users have created over 680,000 mixes, and are rapidly heading toward 7 figures in this category.
There’s been so much excitement, energy and creativity on Jamglue these days, it’s no wonder it’s been so contagious! We’ve got all kinds of artists and fans spending all their free time on the site — chatting, collaborating, and listening to the hottest new mixes. Also, a big shout-out to all our great volunteers on the Jamglue Street Team — they’ve been reppin’ Jamglue like crazy by spreading the word in their schools and communities.
Lastly, Jamglue has been nominated for CNET’s 2008 Webware Awards - voting is open until March 31st, so if you’ve got a minute, vote for us here:
Anyway if you haven’t been to Jamglue lately (or even if you have!) - come through and see what all the hype is about. And stay tuned for some contest winner announcements, new promotions, and other great stuff coming up!
As always, if you’ve got questions, suggestions, or just wanna show us some love, holla@cha girl!

I could talk all day about upgrades, but I think Beyonce tells it (and looks) best:
As always, keep your eyes glued to our contests page for new contests and ways to win great prizes! (more on that coming soon)
The winners will be personally chosen by Public Enemy frontman Chuck D and longtime producer Gary G-Wiz. The contest runs through October 21st.
The Amerikan Gangster Remix Contest is Public Enemy’s way of bringing their fans directly into their music and the creative process that goes into making it. “The days of the few making music for the multitude are over,” says Gary G-Wiz, former member of the groundbreaking production team the Bomb Squad. “There is a lot of talent out there, and we try to get involved with anything that is showcasing the skills of up and coming music makers.”
As always, chop up the tracks, contribute your own vocals and beats, or add music and sound effects from the Jamglue library. Prizes include a limited edition portable media and DVD player from MediaStreet:
an autographed copy of How You Sell Soul To A Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul:
“We’ve done remix contests on past albums, but when I saw Jamglue’s tools and interface, I knew there were great possibilities there,” Gary G-Wiz adds.
As most of you might have noticed by now, we are running a pair of contests with Seattle’s own Blue Scholars, brought to you by Rawkus and MASSLINE! As a huge Scholars fan, I am ridiculously excited to have this opportunity to help promote them here on Jamglue, and get them more of the national attention they deserve!
The song is “Fire for the People” off their recently released album Bayani:
All this amazing music comes from just two super-talented guys: Geologic, the emcee, and Sabzi, the deejay and producer. So to give a nod to this classic hip-hop format, we’ve got an MC Contest, where you add your guest verse to Geologic’s chorus, and a DJ Contest, where you show DJ Sabzi your mixing skills! Geo and Sabzi will be choosing the final winners.
In fact…
At the halfway point of the contest a few weeks ago, they picked their current favorites, just to keep things interesting! Here they are:
And wait - it gets better - we even turned them into ringtones, so that everyone can be ringing fresh this fall! Be sure to check out and download the ringtones, and stay tuned for more as the contest goes on!
The contest closes to entries on September 7th and the voting period will run until September 23rd.
Enter the contests and show your support for some amazing hip-hop, and for Jamglue’s home, the Pacific Northwest!
As promised, we launched a fresh new contest from Jive Records — and none other than everyone’s favorite: T-PAIN with his hit single Bartender!! (and you probably just got it out of your head, right?):
We are so excited about this contest, and have had an overwhelming response from fans so far, with over 450 entries started in just 2 weeks!
For this contest, though it is a standard remix contest, we are encouraging fans to record and include their own vocals in their remixes. After all the excitement of the R. Kelly “Double Up” contest, who can resist contributing a verse of their own?
So get out your microphones, put down your own beat, or chop up the existing tracks - but don’t miss this opportunity to mix your own version of Bartender! T-Pain is picking the winner himself, and in true T-Pain style, the winning remix will be turned into a ringtone by Jive Records, with CD’s and other great prizes for runners up.
